Mother's Day ... 1960.... 2014

Here's my Mom...
I think this was taken Mother's Day 1960.  That's Ma...  I'm guessing we 3 kids got her the roses to celebrate the day.  My mom collected chickens...  ceramic, wooden...  everything but the live ones.  Sure enough, there's one of her chickens beside the bouquet.  And look what she has featured on the wall.  My sister on the left, my brother in the middle, and me, the youngest on the right.  Our high school graduation pictures.  My Mom passed away December 26, 1990.  I won't even try to find the words to say how great this woman was.  They just wouldn't be enough.

I still miss my Mom...  I still listen to her.

Now I have kids of my own...  (and grandkids...  and great-grandkids).
Here I am...  Mother's Day, 2014
Danny and Donna, my son and daughter sent me this beautiful bouquet of spring flowers...
I don't collect chickens, and there are no photos of kids in the background...
I hope that I inherited some of my mom's wisdom.  I do know that to this day, my kids are still influenced by her words.

That's All For Today!

  4. I think you look a lot like her. Of course, you are older now than your mother was at the time of the picture taken. O a day like this I think of MY mother, who passed away 2 years ago. I still mourn her very much.

Happy Mothers Day. I say that even if some one is not a mother, because Mother's Day to me is about my kids too.
