Balloon, and more Balloons!

The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is continuing this week, but Bill and I left yesterday and headed south.  We had a great time...  got to visit with two daughters, Bill's sister, some other relatives as well as meeting some other bloggers and RVers.  We did catch up with someone else who is very special to us, but that will be another blog.

A quick recap ....  some photos of what we saw...  (the header shows a few of the hundreds of balloons we watched...  so many colors and shapes!)

These balloons were all landing just in front of us...

Gorgeous Colors!

Fun to watch other folks taking photos...

Evening Glow....

Fantastic Fireworks!

I still don't know what this  is supposed to be...  never did get to see a full front view.
Any ideas?
Looking up from the ground into the balloon...

And...  the next couple or so made me think of Judy, the Bird Woman...
If you read her blog, you know why....

The "Three Birds" Balloon....
Top one is kinda blurry, but you get the idea...
Now...  I wonder how this one would be IDed...  a Triple-headed, tri-breasted,  multi-colored mutant bird?
We'd been to the Fiesta a few times and I've taken a balloon ride in the past, so while we had a wonderful time, 5 days was enough this time around.

Of course I have several hundred photos of those 5 days...  including a few restaurants, some family shots, and various other things, so they just might show up in the next week or so.

That's All For Today!

  1. Seems like only yesterday, and not seven years, since I attended the Fiesta. Now I like that truck!

  2. Wow sounds like an amazing time sure wish we could have been there, keep the pictures coming, they are awesome!

  3. We loved volunteering for that event. We worked recruiting crew before the Fiesta started and worked all the time the event was going on. You got some great shots.

  4. Those balloons must be very expensive.

  5. Great shots of the balloons. Whether they are in focus or not it helps people who have never attended something like that a good idea of the size of the Fiesta.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  6. I want to see the shots you took looking down from the basket hanging below a floating balloon. . . (grin) Now don't tell me you didn't hitch a ride on one of them???

  7. OH- MY!!! that is ALOT of balloons!! Have heard about that festival, but guess you have to see to believe, huh??

  8. Those are some great balloon pictures. I like that very rare three-headed Parrotoucan!!

  9. The three bird balloon are some of the characters from the animated movie "Rio". As for the other, I have no idea.

  10. That is a lot of balloons! They are beautiful. Is that one a turtle with a mohawk perhaps. As for the cojoined parrot triplets, what can one say. It's sad, you know, but they seem to be making the best of life anyway.

  11. The staff here is actually competent and friendly, unlike other places with their pretentious staff guys. The event space NYC was magnificent and modern, and the seating was comfy. Truly, the food was heavenly and as a visitor I am glad for finding this one.
