More Street Scenes....

We headed out for our walk today...  when we got up to the main street we saw a police car with its flashers on...

Seemed to be escorting this long line of motorcyclists through the city...  We don't know what the occasion was, or maybe they were just out for a Sunday ride...  but it was interesting to see.

I do believe spring is here...
We came across a few redbud trees.  This same species grows wild in Ohio...  I wonder if the Cercis canadensis we have back there is the same species here.  Looks just the same to me...

I took this photo a couple of days ago...
This coming Wednesday, Bill & I are going to the opera.  And you might ask what we're going to?  Well, it's Carmen, of course, and we happened to meet the lead singer in this restaurant.  She is from Japan, but is studying music in Milan, Italy.  For this opera season she will be performing at the opera here in Sevilla.
I'm sure I'll have more about this later....

Some more street scenes....
Isn't this a great way to take your dog along with you?
I tried to see if he was belted in...  still not sure, but he certainly didn't make any move to get out while we were all waiting for the light to change.

I have no idea what company these young ladies work for..
They have a logo on their blouses and their belts, but even that didn't mean anything to me.  We'll be seeing lots of similar fashion in a couple of weeks.  Semana Santa is here soon.

I'm always reminding myself to look up as well as around me.
This gato was sitting on his second floor balcony, looking down at the street.

While we were walking along, we came across a friend...
We have no idea what his name is, but he works at a tavern/cafe that we go to often.  He's been friendly since we met him the first night we were in Sevilla.  It's not often we run into someone we know so when we do, it's hugs all way round!

And, of course, my love of the tops of the buildings...
Look at the tile work!  This one's not even a church...  but, like so many of the old building we see, it has a very ornate top.

And, then...  there are the street entertainers...
This young woman, dressed like Peter Pan, was producing HUGE bubbles with her bubble-making apparatus.   The kids were delighted...  they loved popping those huge bubbles...

We never did figure out the "origin" of this group...
They looked very much like the Navajo Indians that live in New Mexico.  Their music was similar to that culture, but more of the Eastern Indian type.  As to their costumes... ????
They were selling CDs of their music...  I picked one up on to look at... it was produced in Poland.  Go figure.....

We stopped at a sidewalk cafe for a lunch of tapas...
Now you see it.......  now you don't.
Just about the time we finished eating it started sprinkling rain...
Time to head home..

The streets that had been crowded just a bit earlier were starting to look deserted.  I think we ran across 2 groups of tourists from Japan on our way home (those Japanese seem to be on a perpetual vacation! - wait a minute...  so are we!) ...  we crossed back over the Triana bridge and were home again.

Time to catch up on lessons...  still have a couple weeks of school.

That's All For Today!
